It must be a retail rite of passage to get yelled at by an irate customer in front of a store packed full of people at the very same moment your registers fail. I feel so much more like a real shop manager now that I’ve lived through that!
I’ve been in desperate need of chill-out music for my daily commute as well as the long walks I’m trying to squeeze in before or after work a few times a week. My days are so social and noisy and hectic that I’m craving a little solitude. These songs are mostly alt-pop, perfect for totally zoning out.
In brighter store news, I was ringing up customers a few days ago when a woman told me she reads my blog! Hi Leslie You made my day, I have to tell you. I haven’t had many visits from friends or family yet (probably because they accurately fear I’ll put them to work!) so it was pretty exciting to see a friendly face.
