I know it is getting close to Mother’s Day…hopefully this will help you find the perfect gift inspiration if you’re a procrastinator like me. I chose little luxuries: those items you or the mom in your life might not buy but would love to have.
1 Gorgeous photos, fruit from the chef’s garden and sumptuous recipes collide in this rich cookbook
2 Instead of sending flowers, why not give a living herb?
3 A cheerful linen scarf in bright summery colors
4 This statement necklace will make any outfit more memorable
5 The best peanut butter sandwich cookies she’s ever eaten
6 A pretty hat for gardening or the beach
7 A gourmet tea sampler elevates her morning ritual
8 Lavender sea salt for a quiet soak in the tub
9 Luxurious hand cream that comes in a wide variety of scents
10 Motherhood, a foster child, secrets and the meaning of flowers make for a compelling read
11 DIY watercolor postcards to get her creative juices flowing
Is there anything I missed? If you have a great gift for mom (or something you’re wishing for), please share! And of course, homemade gifts are the best: brunch in bed; time alone to do whatever she wants, guilt-free; a list of everything you love about her; a photo album or even a thoughtful letter. I know I would love any of those things. My most-cherished Mother’s Day gift from my husband was the letter he wrote to me on my very first holiday as a new mom. I have to confess, though: this year I already bought myself a little something to celebrate, this Michelle Armas print. I couldn’t resist!
(And here is the Mother’s Day post I wrote last year, a tribute the beautiful mothers in my life, plus a really sweet photo of my mom rocking me as a newborn)

I’m really excited to give my mom her gift although it won’t be ready by mother’s day. You know her mom died last September and we’ve been going through her mother’s house. My grandmother had a signature look of long skirts, handmade by her of course, with button down tops and a straw hat. She had at least 50 long skirts that I’ve sent to my husband’s aunt who is an incredible quilter. She is turning the skirts into a quilt for my mom. I can’t wait to get it and give it to her. She will be shocked.
What a sweet, amazing gift, Amber!
I just bought The Language of Flowers. Can’t way to read it. Even the cover looks pretty!
